Superlight is a floral design studio and online retail space inspired by the love for nature and for things created with care and intention.
The studio’s work is rooted in a modern, minimal approach to floral design, shaped by the study of Sogetsu Ikebana. Designs focus on seasonality, material research, clean composition, and a strong sense of context, adapting each project to reflect and elevate both the setting and the client.
Superlight takes its name and spirit from the Superleggera 699 chair, designed by Gio Ponti for Cassina in 1957. The design principles embodied in the chair —lightness, simplicity, and the use of natural materials —reflect the core philosophy of the studio.
For many years, I lived in Milan right across from a building designed by Ponti. During that time, I worked with Italian and international furniture and décor design studios. It felt natural to pay tribute to that past, and to a city that shaped so much of my perspective.
Superlight Studio is based in Fishtown, Philadelphia.
